Starting in 2013, an annual event held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving that provides free turkeys to deserving families for the holiday.  In the two years since the Annual Southside Festival’s inception, Attorney Flynn has distributed over 1,500 turkeys alongside the Mayor of St. Petersburg and other dignitaries and volunteers. During this event designed specifically for economically disadvantaged families of South St. Petersburg, a community festival is held that includes  performances by acclaimed musical artists, a barbecue, and carnival, all at NO cost to every man, woman, and child in attendance.  Carnival festivities for the children have included:  face painting, pony riding, petting zoo, zip lining, rock wall climbing, bounce houses, assorted rides, and so much more. There is no charge to any of the more than 5,000 individuals in attendance for the concert, food, or carnival, most of who have never had the opportunity to experience such festivities outside of the Annual Southside Fall Festival.
